ROSY Product Certificate & Quality Documentation

ROSY Product Certificate and Documentation for a Diamond Jewelry Piece
ROSY DIAMOND KNOWLEDGE

ROSY Product Certificate & Quality Documentation

A Product Certificate and an independent gemological Grading Report serve different purposes.

At ROSY Lab Diamonds, we deliberately distinguish between the documentation of your piece of jewelry and the independent examination of an individual diamond.

FUNDAMENTALS

What is the ROSY Product Certificate?

The ROSY Product Certificate is part of the documentation for the purchased piece of jewelry.

It serves to record relevant product information in a traceable manner and to establish the connection between the piece of jewelry and its ROSY documentation.

Important The ROSY Product Certificate is not an independent gemological laboratory report and should not be confused with an IGI Grading Report.
PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION

What purpose does the ROSY Product Certificate serve?

1

Piece of jewelry

It documents the piece of jewelry purchased from ROSY and its product assignment.

2

Product information

Relevant information about the piece of jewelry can be clearly recorded.

3

Traceability

The documentation makes it easier to subsequently match the piece of jewelry with the available records.

Difference between an independent Grading Report and a Product Certificate
THE IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE

Grading Report or Product Certificate?

Independent IGI Grading Report

Documents the gemological examination of a specific individual diamond by an independent specialist laboratory.

ROSY Product Certificate

Documents the piece of jewelry and its associated product information from ROSY Lab Diamonds.

Two different documents – two different purposes. A ROSY Product Certificate does not replace an independent Grading Report. In turn, a Grading Report does not automatically document all the characteristics of the finished piece of jewelry.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINATION

What does the IGI Grading Report document?

An independent IGI Grading Report refers to the individual diamond examined.

Depending on the report, the following information, among other details, may be documented:

  • Laboratory origin
  • Carat weight
  • Measurements
  • Color
  • Clarity
  • Cut, where applicable
  • Polish
  • Symmetry
  • Growth information
  • Additional gemological information
Independent means: The gemological report is not prepared by ROSY itself as the retailer, but by the issuing laboratory.
ROSY 0.50 CT STANDARD

When Do You Also Receive an IGI Grading Report?

For a single Lab Grown Diamond weighing 0.50 ct or more, you receive an independent IGI Grading Report from ROSY Lab Diamonds, as well as the ROSY Product Certificate.

The individual Diamond is what matters. The 0.50 ct threshold does not refer to the combined weight of multiple smaller diamonds.
INDIVIDUAL STONE VS. TOTAL CARAT WEIGHT

Why Total Carat Weight Is Not the Same

For jewelry with multiple diamonds, the total weight of all stones used is often added together.

For the ROSY Standard, however, what matters is whether a single Lab Grown Diamond weighs at least 0.50 ct.

Individual Stone

A solitaire with a single lab grown diamond weighing, for example, 0.70 ct meets the 0.50 ct requirement.

Total Carat Weight

Many smaller diamonds can weigh a combined 0.70 ct without any individual stone weighing at least 0.50 ct.

Single Diamond Compared with Multiple Smaller Diamonds with a Total Carat Weight
EXAMPLES

How the 0.50 ct Rule Works in Practice

0.50 ct Solitaire

A single lab grown diamond weighing 0.50 ct meets the threshold.

0.80 ct Center Stone

A single lab grown diamond weighing 0.80 ct plus smaller side stones meets the threshold for the center stone.

Many Small Diamonds

A jewelry piece with, for example, a total weight of 1.00 ct does not automatically meet the threshold if each individual stone is under 0.50 ct.

IGI Grading Report and ROSY Product Certificate as complementary documents
TWO DOCUMENTS

Why Both Documents Can Be Useful

A larger individual lab grown diamond and the jewelry piece made from it have different levels of documentation.

The Diamond

The independent IGI Grading Report documents the gemological characteristics of the individual stone examined.

The Jewelry Piece

The ROSY Product Certificate documents the product and jewelry-piece level.

Together, these documents create a clear distinction between independent diamond grading and ROSY product documentation.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CERTIFICATE IS NOT

Transparency Instead of False Expectations

The ROSY Product Certificate should not be understood as an independent laboratory certificate, appraisal, or guarantee of future price development.

No Independent Laboratory Evaluation

This function is performed, where applicable, by the separate IGI Grading Report.

No value guarantee

The document does not guarantee any future resale or market value.

No price forecast

Market prices can change and are influenced by many factors.

STORAGE

Why should you keep your documents?

The product certificate and any available Grading Report are important documents for your jewelry piece.

  • Keep the documents safely stored together with your purchase documents.
  • Do not unnecessarily damage or label the originals.
  • Document report numbers separately if needed.
  • Digital copies can also be helpful.
  • For an independent report, use the official online verification.
Practical tip Keep the jewelry piece, purchase documents, and documentation safely stored separately if this makes sense for your personal security arrangements.
PURCHASE GUIDANCE

Which documents should I expect?

Jewelry piece without an individual stone of 0.50 ct or more

The ROSY product certificate documents the purchased jewelry piece in accordance with ROSY product documentation.

Individual Lab Grown Diamond from 0.50 ct

In addition to the ROSY product certificate, you will receive an independent IGI Grading Report for this individual diamond.

Questions before purchase What matters is not only the total carat weight of the jewelry piece. In particular, check the weight of the individual center diamond.
IN BRIEF

ROSY quality documentation at a glance

  • The ROSY product certificate documents the jewelry piece.
  • It is not an independent gemological laboratory report.
  • An IGI Grading Report documents the examination of one specific individual diamond.
  • Both documents serve different purposes.
  • At ROSY, the IGI threshold applies from 0.50 ct per individual Lab Grown Diamond.
  • The total carat weight of several small diamonds is not decisive for this.
  • A product certificate is not a guarantee of future market value.
  • Transparent documentation helps clearly distinguish the jewelry piece from the diamond information.
